Trafalgar House sits above historic Bayards Cove in Dartmouth - where the Onedin
Line was filmed.
With views from the ground floor across the river to Kingswear - the ferry can be
viewed plying back and forth with visitors and residents ready to enjoy the unique
charm and character of Dartmouth.
We are situated on Newcomen Road in Dartmouth, it gets its name from the famous Thomas
Newcomen who designed and developed the then revolutionary Pump Engine. Trafalgar
House, formerly an inn, is just a gentle stroll into the centre of town, you won't
have to walk up a fifty or more steps to get there!
A favourite place to eat of mine is Café Alf Resco.
If you are new to Dartmouth – it is certainly worth a visit.
They specialise in breakfast and it is just a fun and friendly place to go. There
is a rear access to the restaurant just opposite the apartment and a little way towards
town on the other side of the road. Don’t be put off if it looks busy – it always
is but somehow everyone always gets a seat!
Great food can be found in the Royal Castle Hotel just a few minutes walk into the
centre of town, this old hotel overlooks the boat float, a small inner harbour. The
Royal Castle boasts the Nu Restaurant, and also does great food downstairs all day,
or just a coffee and cake.
